Electricity
The voltage used throughout Japan is uniformly 100 volts, A.C., and no columnar-shaped plugs or 3-pin plugs used in Japan . Only 2pin -flat- plugs are used therefore it is advised to purchase a plug adapter before entering or you can purchase in Japan also.
Wi-Fi
Wireless hotspots are available all major cities in Japan, however if you are traveling to more remote areas, Wi-Fi rental is recommended.
Currencies
A customs declaration is required if you are carrying more than one million yen in any currencies.(cash, checks, traveler's checks, securities, etc.).
The unit of Japanese currency is yen. Coins are available in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 yen and bank notes in denominations of 1,000, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 yen.
Drinking Water
Tap water is safe to drink anywhere in Japan. Mineral water including major imported brands can be easily obtained from super markets, convenience stores and other similar places.
Customs and Manners
Etiquettes are very important among the Japanese and you should aware of the basic rules, and always ask from locals if you are unsure of any particular cultural.The people of Japan, greet each other by bowing and shaking hand in Japan is uncommon. Japanese are very strict related to footwear and it must remove not only in the home, but also in temples, castles, restaurants and many traditional ryokan. (Japanese style inn).
