Japan Rail Pass

The Japan Rail Pass or JR Pass is a very cost effective and convenient means of traveling throughout Japan by rail.

There are two types of Passes Green Cars  ( First Class) and Ordinary  Cars and each  type of passes are available  for 7 days, 14 days or 21 days.

Eligibility

Foreign nationals visiting for Tourist purpose under the entry status of "temporary visitor can use JR PASS.

Child aged 6 through 11Years travel/purchase dates are eligible.

Valid in

• JR Trains, Japan Railways including Shinkansen, limited express Trains, rapid and local trains.
• Tokyo mono Rail To From Haneda Airport.
• JR Ferry in Miyajima Island
• Aoimori Railway ( JR Ominato) between Aomori, Noheji and Hachinohe.
• Ishikawa Railway (JR Nanao Line) between Kanazawa and Tsubata
• Toyama Railway between Toyama and Takaok
• JR Bus except Highway buses (Yamaguchi – Hagi) (Kyoto Station - Ryoanji – Takao) (Kanazawa Station – Kenrokuen) ( JR tourist loop bus in Hiroshima) (JR city buses in Sapporo)

Not Valid in

• Nozomi Trains( Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen)
• Mizuho Trains (Sanyo/Kyushu Shinkansen)
