Wisteria (Ashikaga)

Wisteria flower also called Fuji in Japanese is belongs to the most beloved flowers in Japan. The best places to view the wisteria flowers are in the Ashikaga Flower Park located in Tochigi Prefecture. Various colors of wisteria can be seen in Park blooming in blue, purple and pink yellow from late April to early may with over 350 wisteria trees. Each colour tends to bloom at different times starts with pink then purple followed by white and then yellow wisteria. Ashikaga Flower Park is also known for the amazing illumination of the garden at night.

Ashikaga park is home of an ancient wisteria tree that boast an age of around 150 years, and its branches are supported to create a huge umbrella of blue wisteria with 80meter long white wisteria tunnel.

The park is just 2 hours from Tokyo and during the festival it is very crowded hence recommended to reach in morning time.
